Microwarehouse Year End Sale (December 1 and 2 2012)

Love them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TheGreatMicrowarehouseSale

The most popular warehouse sale is hitting the country this weekend folks! Since it’s a long weekend, you can spend your November 30 drooling in anticipation for the next two days.

Items on sale are as usual held a secret but based on historical evidence, we’re bound to see a lot of accessories for smartphones and Apple products. These may include wireless charging systems and bags as well as a number of appliances.

The Microwarehouse Sale will be at its usual venue: visit them on December 1 and 2, 2012 at Decagon Silver City, Tiendesitas Compound, Pasig City.

Admiration for the Amazon Kindle

I have never been this enamored with product packaging since the MacBook, but people do tell me that Amazon really does amazing things with their Kindle hardware line. I’ve never owned one before, till now. This was given to me as a token for speaking in the recent PRSP Congress (everyone agrees that this 2012 PR Congress was something else!). Before the Kindle, I had a Sony eReader and I have to admit although these two ebook readers do the same thing, there’s something about the Kindle that just makes books more appealing to read. No more used textbooks that pile up in the library.

The Great Microwarehouse Sale (2012 Edition) will carry more than just gadgets!

Details:
June 16-17 2012 at the Decagon Silver City.
Doors to the public open at 12 noon on the 16th.
The Great Microwarehouse Sale Facebook Page

Talked to the head honchos of Microwarehouse and they’ve really excited for this year’s sale. Let me tell you what they aren’t showing in the poster:

1. Doors to the public open at 12 noon. However, the doors will be open at 10AM exclusively for those who bear the “Elite Geek” mark (which is essentially a QR code). This status is given to customers of the previous sales who spend more than PHP 100,000.00 during these events. This means that they will have first dibs to the glorious pieces of technology that Microwarehouse will be displaying. If you by chance decide to spend over a hundred grand this weekend, you will be entitled first dibs for the Christmas sale which will happen in December. In addition to this, the guys from Microwarehouse are hell bent on giving “Elite Geeks” (yes that’s really what you call them) bigger discounts on top of the sale prices.

2. Exciting stuff: GoPro will be participating in the sale. These are the best adventure cameras in the market. For cycling. For SCUBA diving. For snorkeling and surfing.

3. Microwarehouse will also be bringing in the big TV brands (clues in the poster!). They will be selling 55″-80″ LED and Plasma flat screens and living room hi-fi sets. Deferred payments accepted! Credit cards accepted! Say goodbye to savings!

4. One huge difference this year is that there will be a huge selection of home appliances with the price tags given the Microwarehouse sale thumbs up! Buy a refrigerator for you … and an iMac for your wife. LOL.

So that’s it! That’s Father’s Day weekend in case you forgot so if you’re still planning what to do for Father’s Day for the entire family, spend it at Silver City or somewhere nearby then “accidentally” head on over to the Great Microwarehouse Sale and get your loved one a new 80″ Plasma TV!

Live from the SEA Samsung Forum 2012 in Bangkok

We're in Bangkok!

Hi guys! We’re here in Bangkok for the annual Samsung Forum for South East Asia. What exactly is it? Every year, Samsung brings together all its regional dealers and the media together for several days of product announcements and briefings. The PH contingent is composed of about 100+ members from Samsung, the local media (print + online) and the store dealers. This year, the focus of the announcements will be in new AV products (will we see the SMART Window?). I’m particularly excited because this also means looking at updates for their SMART TV line which is getting more and more interesting with more things to do under the hood. Will they announce new software updates to their TV line? What about new home theater systems? Android ICS updates? Stay tuned!

For updates during the day (March 15 2012), I will be posting from both Twitter and Instagram with omnibus blog posts wrapping up the day with analysis and summaries.

You can follow me via Twitter (@jayvee) and if you’re on Instagram simply look for @jayveef for photo updates. Stay tuned! It starts in a few hours!
