It’s like Samsung kicked Apple in the balls and said “Oh so you made your latest phone slightly bigger? OK we’re going to make our biggest phone slightly smaller just to match your dumb iPhone 5. And we’ll do it in a few months.”

So there you have it. Samsung has released the GT-I8190 Galaxy SIII mini and it sells in the Philippines for PHP 14,990.00. There will be a PHP 2,000.00 off promo price when it hits the market for pre-orders in two weeks time. But yes, the phones are here and we have one.

All around this post are photo comparisons between the SIII mini and the iPhone 5, both slinging 4″ screens. The ‘mini’ is 0.3 inches smaller in screen real estate compared to its bigger S3 brother. It also carries the rather gorgeous Super AMOLED screen that really put Samsung in the spotlight. The phone also comes with a removable 1500mAh battery (a tad small in my opinion, but let’s see how it fares in actual usage) and the whole thing is powered by a dual core 1GHz processor.

For a fraction of the price of the SIII and the Note II as well as the iPhone 5, the Samsung Galaxy SIII mini is definitely a phone to look forward to at its current retail price below PHP 15,000.00
