Crumpler Skivvy keeps your 13-inch Macbook cuddly for PHP 3,950.00

The guys from Digits sent me the new Skivvy (finally a Crumpler bag with a name only 2 syllables long), the 13-inch variant of their new line of messenger bags. Ideal for the current line of 13-inch MacBook / Pro, this bag can hold more things than meets the eye.

You see, I’ve owned previous iterations of this messenger bag all the way from when the MacBook wasn’t even called that. The old Macintosh iBook G4 was 12″ and fit snuggly into the two-tone color of Crumpler’s old messenger bags from 2006. It was such a delight owning one of these because I had literally thrown it into the mud (by accident) and recovered it 2 hours later (it fell off the hood of my car as I forgot it was there when I drove off), stained and all but after a quick wash, it looked like brand new. Also, my iBook was completely safe.

That being said, my only complain, if you could call it that, was that the messenger bag could not hold anything more than the iBook, the charger and a mouse. And that was a really tight fit.

Through the years the bag got better, adding more “secret compartments” that made it look bigger than it seemed. I’m glad to see that this year, Crumpler has outdone itself with an amazing storage solution that’s so compact yet so full of pockets. From the photo below, you can see that the bag not only fits a 13″ laptop, it also has 3 more layers of pockets for other things you carry in your mobile commute. In my case, I was able to fit my portable HD, cables, an extra phone, charger and mouse in places so snug, you would be amazed at how these were incorporated into the design of the bag.

Additionally, the front zipper comes with stretchable garters to fit a smartphone / portable HD and pens so that they don’t jiggle while you’re on the move.

If you’re looking for a stylish messenger bag to accompany you in your mobile commute, the 13-inch Skivvy is easily in my top picks list. It’s relatively affordable as well, as you can put more things inside apart from **just** your laptop.
