The WWDC in Words, Safari runs on Windows!

MacHeads unite! Nothing like an iChat conference with PhilMUG for the running account of the 2007 WWDC. The most interesting annoucement will be the fate of .Mac accounts, allegedly to be handed over to Google’s development. Argh. There was no announcement for the .Mac toolkit. Nonetheless, the most intriguing announcement was when Steve showed how the iPhone’s Safari is not just a browser, but now an operating system too.

Some other features of Leopard were discussed and Steve did an in-your-face to Microsoft with their new pricing scheme:

Leopard shipping in October.
Basic version, $129.
Premium version, $129.
Business version, $129,
Enterprise version $129.
Ultimate version, $129.

MacRumors: “it’s all the same… most people are gonna buy the ultimate version 🙂 ”

Eat your heart out Microsoft. Here are other updates to Leopard:

BootCamp allows for native speeds of Windows XP and Vista with easy installs. Complement to Parallels.

Spaces has just been improved. No need for multiple monitors.

Safari is now compatible with Windows! Hahaha! Download your public beta copy. Interesting too since all iPhone applications can run within the iPhone’s version of Safari. Safari is now a platform and not just a browser. Hmmm, world pwnage?
