Why I Don’t Use A Feed Reader

Let me give you the perfect analogy to my reasoning.

Would you rather talk to your girlfriend or boyfriend over the phone or meet up in person? Would you rather see the object of your affection all dressed up and cute or just hear their voice. I mean, both are okay … but isn’t seeing em in the flesh much better?

I like looking at your cute template while reading your thoughts. I like looking at your goofy profile picture too, whilst you watch me read your thoughts. I also like … clicking around on things … you don’t usually see … on your feed 🙂

Okay actually I lied. I do use a feed reader – its called Vienna – its open source and its for the Macintosh. But that’s reserved for the blogs and other sites I read to do research. For instance, the entire PC Magazine site is on my feed reader. It’s so much easier to read that way because it classifies everything according to sections, de-constructing the portal-like layout.

one bunny has been saved a long time ago.

I used vienna before but I shifted to Google Reader because sometimes I am using all sorts of computers or laptops at home.

Make sure you use only one URL for your syndication feed. Using both the wp-specific URL and the feedburner URL doesn’t help in increasing your chicklet subscriber count. =)

I forgot to mention this in a previous comment, but you can use this plugin to redirect all your feeds to FB.

There’s also another plugin that doesn’t redirect your feeds to FB, but still sends stats over to FB.

There are two feedburner plugins for WP, both work in the same way that you still use WP’s feed URL, but you’re actually serving it from feedburner, utilizing all the goodness they offer, including saving those bunnies. 🙂
