Is problogging a sexy job?

·

Let’s say you want to score points on your date. When she asks you, during a romantic candlelight dinner, “so what do you do?” what do you end up telling her?

Technically, you’re a writer. “But problogging is more than just writing” you end up thinking, out of pride in a local industry that is still on uncharted lands.

Here are some choices, based on some feedback from people:
“I am a web content editor” (sounds too technical to score)
“I blog for a living” (close, but no cigar)
“I make money out of Google” (sounds too exploiting)
“I am an editor for an online publication” (easiest to understand)
“I write” (most profound, and it comes from this casanova)

Any other suggestions? Because sometimes I find it hard to describe exactly what I do. Which is why having a regular 9-5 job is a good thing, because that is what you mention.

“If I told you, I’d have to kill you.”

    Sexy enough?

this is where you LIE. she actually don’t care anyway. its just for conversations sake. trust me on this. But on the other hand this is important to some women so you could say you are a CEO and earn tons of money. that’ll get her attention.

I like J’s version HEHEHE it’s sooooo James Bond

If you say you’re a professional blogger, she might think you’re just a professional BUM if she isn’t very tech-savvy LOL.

exactly my dillema when filling-up any kind of form that asks for occupation after I’ve turned fulltime at problogging. even more difficult when people ask what you do.

so i ended up putting “freelance internet writer” instead. bahala sila kung ano initindi nila dyan! he he. 😉
but not sexy enough i guess.

Reminds me of the time when I took photos at an entreprenuership event. I mentioned that I was a blogger , that I write in my blog etc. Then the guy says ” Oh you’re a journalist”. Hah, so hard to explain if the person is clueless about the internet

    My calling card says:

Professional blogger / tech evangelist / new media consultant / tumatanggap ng labada pag linggo

I think ‘journalist’ is the closest fit to what we do.

In the context of dating, I like J’s answer though you could come out as “too secretive,” one thing I don’t think girls will appreciate. 🙂

Most of the time, giving them my URL works. 😉

How about “I touch people’s lives thru my blog..?” Mysterious and sensitive ang dating…. it should perk up your date’s interest..
