A Path to Business Recovery

Tentative steps are being taken in beginning economic recovery across the world – lockdown measures are slowly starting to ease are guidelines are being put out in order to direct this recovery – many are trying to issue the easing in stages with those in the service industry such as restaurants being amongst the last to re-open. One of the challenges that need to be overcome is that social distancing will slowly become normal, and overtime it’s likely the measures taken in social distancing will be here to stay – there have even been suggestions that these measures and restrictions likely won’t lift until a vaccine is available, if at all. But now dates have been set out for a time businesses can look to re-open, it may be the perfect time to look at the path businesses can take to kick start their recovery.

It’s time to engage

You may have been lucky enough to have a lot of engagement with your customers during a time of closure, but that isn’t true for all – if your business was unable to stay in contact with your customers over the past two or three months, now may be the best time to start engaging again. Let them know your plans for reopening and any guidelines you may have going forward – whether this be limiting the number of people in your store at once, or any deals you may have going – just let your customers know what the plan is for going forward, and have arrangements in place for when you are prepared to welcome customers back.

Less may be more

To go hand in hand with this, be tentative with your marketing. This is still a sensitive time for many, there are many who still aren’t back to work just yet but also just as many who are eager to get out again – marketing too much may either lessen the tone of caution needed or frustrate those who may still be struggling a little. Market enough to get the message out and be clear what the goals are, without making it seem like you’re trying to get as many people as possible through the doors.

It’s time to stand out

We’ve seen many businesses advertise what makes them different and stand out throughout the coronavirus to perform as well as possible during closures – one example would be mobile casinos as they find a surge in traffic whilst many of these sites are not blocked by gamstop giving users a choice in where to play. Finding something to help you stand out amongst all others reopening at the same time may be your path to success.

The dates laid out are of course tentative and could change at any moment, but the good news that a date has been agreed to provide an opportunity to at least prepare for a reopening, and have measures in place to get back on track.
