Happy Hour SG: Making sense of the urban bar crawl in Singapore

Lately, Singapore and Hong Kong have been on my travel itinerary fairly often — mostly because of work and family. When let lose unto the urban sprawl, it took a while before I got completely comfortable walking the streets. My past trips to HK found me turning on Foursquare and grabbing the complimentary hotel room smartphone and turning it into a hotspot. Then I walk. The integration of Foursquare with Google Maps helps me discover a lot of new places. Coffee shops, craft beer and speak easy bars are usually at the top of my list. At times though, making sense of the city can be taxing. It’s a concrete jungle after all and the trouble with apps like Foursquare is that it can be too overwhelming if you only want to discover specific things.

My brother-in-law recently launched his Android app called Happy Hour, a bar-finder app available on Android (and soon on iOS). I’ve been looking for location apps that were attuned to more specific types of establishments and Happy Hour SG

If you love to drink and find all the happy hour promos, do yourself a favor and grab the Happy Hour Singapore App on Android. If you’re on iOS, I’ll have the link up as soon as it is ready and available. One of the things I like is being able to discover speak easy rooftop bars that are not visible in your usual bar crawl and since it’s linked up to Google Maps, you can easily navigate your way while the app is on. You can also schedule your trips as, because of its namesake, it tells you when a bar’s happy hour is up.

If you’re looking for new bars to discover without having to think much in your next trip to Singapore, do try this app. It’s free and it will save you a lot of time and money with the happy hour promos.
