Free tickets and a ‘Thank You’ to my readers!

True Faith belting it out. A glimpse of what’s in store on October 20

Some bloggers are giving away tickets for the Toblerone Thank You Day concert at the Mall of Asia. I recently wrote about how October 20 has been declared National Thank You Day, with Manila being the Thank You capital in the Philippines.

I have 300 tickets to the concert this coming October 20 at the Mall of Asia. Bands include (but are not limited to) Cynthia Alexander, Reggae Mistress, Stone Free, Salindiwa, Mozzie and The Dawn!

To claim your free ticket, all you need to do is leave a comment expressing your desire to come. As an added bonus, Toblerone will be giving a special prize to the commenter who posts the most creative way of saying THANK YOU 🙂

After you have left a comment, you will be contacted by Alma. If you wish to reach her to claim your tickets ahead of time, you may do so by texting her at 09175344624 or emailing thankyoudayphilippines at gmail dot com. See you there!

A Thank You to My Readers

I wanted to save this for December of 2007 but the time seems appropriate to say thank you to everyone who’s been reading this little blog. I’m going to mention a few names of people who helped shape my career as a blogger, writer and editor in one way or the other:

Adel Gabot has been a good friend and mentor for god knows when. He’s basically helped me shape my career as a writer, editor, journalist. We’ve gone through growing pains — and I can’t imagine my career bloom without his help.

Yuga for giving me some perspective on the blogging industry when I was starting out. There have been rumors circulating about a falling out between me and Abe. In truth, Abe and I agree and disagree on varying perspectives with the new media industry. The important thing is we can both sit down at the end of the day and still enjoy a few beers.

Jeremy, Duncan, Shai, Darren and the rest of the b5media team. Without a doubt, b5media has kept me up during the wee hours of the morning – it’s crazy and I love it!

JV Rufino, Joey and the rest of the INQUIRER.net family for being supportive of my crazy ideas.

Gang Badoy of RockEd for helping me find my roots.

The staff of MANUAL, Rogue, Hinge-Inquirer, and all the other publications I’ve written for in the past. 🙂

SEE YOU ON THE 20TH!

Oh and before I forget, thank you to Janette Toral for being a good sport as victim of my first online controversy (no more link, ok?). Janette and I are at peace in all things except WarBook. 🙂

I think I wanna go! Pwede 2 tickets? Sama ko sweetie ko hehehe.

It’s always hard to say thank you that’s why I went crazy over Toblerone’s online TY cards. I sent quite a number and I sent one to my Ate and told her, “Thank you Ate for being a pillar in my life, I wouldn’t have turned out this way without out.” She cried.

I hold in my hand a bar of Toblerone. I’ll dedicate one triangle piece to you if you hand me a pair of tickets. The rest of the pieces are in honor of my dogs, my sister, my parents and my crazy friends who I am eternally grateful for.

Salamat. Kayo ang nag-silbing daan upang marating ko ang aking dapat marating. I recently came across a book which told a story of how we are able to sometimes twist the wheel of fate. And this blog (humbly called coz I dont think a blog with a wide audience reach could be called li’l) became an instrument for that much needed twist in my life. Maybe amidst the sea of unfamiliar faces our paths will cross and i can properly say thank you.

Thank you to my parents for sacrificing so much for us. Now that I’m a parent myself, I wish I would be as good as you both were. Love you both!!
